Everyone has had it with Travis and his tall tales—his teachers, his schoolmates, even his mom. When Travis is given time off (aka school suspension), the park becomes his school-away-from-school. He has everything he needs: books, calculator, a dragon. Dragon?! How can this notorious fibber get anyone to believe him? Based on the fable The Boy Who Cried Wolf, this story of a boy and his dragon is told with humor… and with a much happier ending.
Due to copyright requirements, all audience members are required to register for our show. Please RSVP for access to the live streaming room using the link down below. We hope you enjoy the show! The RSVP form will still be available during the show, so if you would like to join us past opening we'd be more than happy to welcome another audience member!

James Hayakawa
Director
James Hayakawa is a recent Acme Alum ('19) and a rising sophomore BFA Musical Theatre student at Ball State University in Muncie, IN. You may have seen him in past Acme productions as Malvolio in Twelfth Night, Hansel and others in The Twelve Huntsmen, and Black Stache in Peter and the Starcatcher. He is thrilled to be directing The Boy Who Cried Dragon this week. He would like to thank Emily Henderson and all the current ACE members and congratulate the cast for a job well done.
DIRECTOR'S NOTE
Now, more than ever, the world needs imagination and joy. Theatres are closed down for public safety and public performances are limited. Despite this, Acme has persevered and committed to producing this summer season, including The Boy Who Cried Dragon. Travis Davis, the young protagonist of the show, discovers something using his imagination, and with an open mind and heart, is able to share it with his family and his community. Likewise, through the imagination and hard work of the talented members of Acme, as well as theatres across the world, theatre artists can still share their imagination with their community and hopefully bring joy to those who need it most. I am grateful to be a part of this incredible production and to work with Acme once again. I hope you all enjoy The Boy Who Cried Dragon!
-James Hayakawa

Jackie Wallis
Cynthia
Jackie Wallis is a rising Junior at DHS, and is ACME’s set apprentice and a member of DHS theater Board. She has been acting for many years, some of her favorite roles being: Allison (The Breakfast Club), Mr. Filby (The Time Machine), and Ottavio (Scapino!). When not involved in theater, she can be found riding her completely unhinged horse, drawing, or attempting to woo her gecko with various strange noises. She hopes you find some joy in watching this show during these tumultuous times!

Sophia Ginosar
Dragon
Sophia Ginosar (she/her) is a senior at East High School in Denver, Colorado. Despite the unusual locale, she has some connection to ACME, as her mother was the costume maker for the company in the early 1980s. Although her role as the Dragon will be her second at ACME, she has participated in many shows, such as Sister Act, The Diary of Anne Frank, and West Side Story. When not working on a production, Sophia spends her time playing video games, drawing, and working on 3D animation. She would like to thank everyone at ACME for being incredibly welcoming.

Ian Bourne
Travis
Ian Bourne (he/him) is a rising sophomore at Davis Senior HS. This is his second ACME show, and he had the time of his life in Dear Harvey last week. He’s playing Travis in this week’s show, and is also the new Education Program Apprentice! He is thrilled (and a little shocked) to be part of the DHS Jazz Choir this fall, as well as all the other nerdy classes he’s enrolled in. When he isn’t working with all the wonderful people he’s met in ACME, he can be found wandering around Davis with his school friends or cuddling with his perfect little pupper Ollie. He would like to thank the cast and crew for being so welcoming, and he hopes you enjoy this silly show!

Kira Cubbage
Officer Billing
Kira Cubbage (she/her) is a homeschooler about to graduate 12th grade, and is excited to be performing in her 8th Acme show. She is excited to be appearing as Officer Billig, and is excited to discover the interesting (and sometimes irritating) challenges and opportunities that Zoom offers to theater. Her previous roles have included: Willi Graf in Acme’s white rose, Various ensemble roles in Acme’s Twelfth Night, The Beaux Stratagem, and The Triangle Factory Fire Project, and the lion in Acmes Twelve Huntsmen. Outside of acting Kira enjoys roleplaying games (and particularly D&D), anime, and various nerdy/geek activities.

Juna Brothers
Lois
Juna Brothers (she/her) is a freshman at Holmes Junior High School. She is excited to be in her second Acme show acting as Lois. Her other roles include Much Ado About Nothing (Connie Conrade) and Dear Harvey (Anne Kronenberg). Besides acting, Juna enjoys playing the cello, eating things, petting dogs and worshiping Cristina Yang. She would like to thank everyone at Acme for being so welcoming, especially Mattias RowenBale for introducing her to the company and sending her pictures of his adorable dog Buttercup.

Olivia Sagayaradj
Principal
Olivia Sagayaradj is a sophomore at Davis Senior High School who is very excited to be participating in her second Acme show! She will be playing the role of the school principal. Olivia has been playing piano for almost ten years and has performed at various piano competitions and recitals. Olivia is also a part of the speech and debate team as well as the robotics team at her school. Olivia would like to thank the entire Acme cast and crew for making her first time at Acme theatre company a very fun and memorable experience and hope you enjoy the show!
Special thanks to these supporters who make all of the Acme adventures possible!
